During my training as a neuropsychologist, I received extensive education as a diagnostician; specifically, assessing and understanding the relationship between our physical brain and behavior. Unfortunately, the treatment portion of Neuropsychologist is very limited. Initially, I was blaming this to my dear university. Then I realized that the most schools had the same issue, limited treatment resources. Simultaneously, I founded Health of Mind, Inc in 2006 to train adults with developmental disabilities to work and live independently in the community. Although our habilitation program was relatively successful, I found myself lacking behavioral intervention skills. For those reason, I decided to pursue career in Applied Behavior Analysis to combined both fields; Neuropsych and ABA. Fortunately, my plan worked perfectly. With my combined knowledge, I was able to diagnose and efficaciously treat patients of all ages and conditions. In fact, my interventions were so effective, that soon I had to strategically hire other clinicians to replicate my interventions. Today, we have over 100 clinicians successfully replicating treatment protocols. To ensure quality of service, I created a hybrid position, the Senior Supervisors, to help me supervise supervisors and field clinicians. Together, between my Assistant Clinical Director and I, we meet with them regularly. I guess that we can define “luck” as being in the right place at the right time. So has been my clinical experience. I have worked with all ages. From birth to death, from neurodevelopmental to neuroacquired disorders, from medical conditions to purely psychological ones, and from acute to chronic conditions. I am so grateful for such exposure and for the family we have created that have, literally, sustained us through these difficult years. Thank you for taking your time to read about my professional life. Muchas Gracias! Frank
