About Health of Mind

Our story

Helping people build fuller lives, since 2006.

When you look for support for your child, you bring questions, hopes, and dreams for their future. You want someone to see their strengths, understand their challenges, and listen.

That is the relationship we want to build with every family at Health of Mind.

Where our story began

Our story began in 2006, when Dr. Frank Perez Verdecia founded Health of Mind to help adults with developmental disabilities live more independently.

For more than a decade, our community-based program served hundreds of families, supporting employment, everyday independence, and a greater sense of belonging.

Progress matters most when it makes a difference in someone's daily life.

Our evolution
  1. 2006

Health of Mind is founded by Dr. Frank Perez Verdecia, initially helping adults with developmental disabilities live more independently.

  2. Early 2010s

Health of Mind expands its services to children.

  3. Today

More than 100 clinicians support children and families in homes, schools, and community settings.

Growing with the families we serve

In the early 2010s, we expanded our services to children. Pediatric behavioral care eventually became our focus, bringing that same commitment to a new generation of families.

Our purpose remained:

Helping each person build skills that open up possibilities.

Health of Mind today

Today, more than 100 clinicians support children and families in homes, schools, and community settings.

Through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), we work together on goals that reflect each child's needs—communicating a need, joining an activity, navigating a routine, or doing something more independently.

We know those moments can mean a great deal.

Progress looks different for every child.

Progress looks different for every child, and your knowledge of their strengths, interests, and daily challenges is essential to our work together.

We also partner with community organizations to support our families.

Our story continues with every family we meet.

We would love to hear your story—and learn what matters most to your child and your family.

We are grateful to the families who welcome us into their lives, the professionals who trust us with their referrals, and the clinicians whose dedication carries our work forward.

Our story began with a hope for greater independence and opportunity. It continues with every family we meet.
